Notebook Lower Cover Stamping Connection Project

Client Needs:
An electronic company required a fully automated solution for the stamping connection of notebook lower covers. The primary objective was to streamline production with advanced robotics, minimizing human intervention and ensuring consistent quality in handling aluminum materials for notebook covers of varying sizes.

Project Implementation:
Shanghai Turing Robot Intelligent Manufacturing Co., Ltd. was tasked with delivering a turnkey solution that included the manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and training of personnel for robotic systems. The project involved the following key components:

Key Component: Automation and Equipment Overview

The project required providing a fully automated production line equipped with multiple robotic systems for the notebook stamping process.
Equipment Included:
1. Six-axis TKB1400 robots and custom grippers designed to handle workpieces from 10 to 17 inches in size.
2. A 110T punch and a 160T punch for stamping processes.
3. Reciprocating conveyors, safety gratings, and fences to ensure efficient and safe operation.

Key Component: Process Flow

The robots perform a series of tasks, including picking up workpieces from a loading platform, placing them into punches for stamping, and transferring them along the production line. Air knives are used to blow off aluminum shavings, ensuring cleanliness throughout the process.
The robots manage both the initial and intermediate stamping processes, ensuring high precision in handling the aluminum workpieces. The system operates on a production cycle of approximately 14 seconds per piece.

Key Component: Robotic Features and Efficiency

To enhance production efficiency, equipment such as high-speed air knives, aluminum shavings treatment systems, and cleaning devices were added. These ensured the workspace remained clean and free of material buildup.
A secondary positioning table and double-station loading platform were also incorporated, allowing for seamless switching between different workpieces.

Key Component: Additional Equipment and Customization

The robotic grippers are designed with strong compatibility, capable of switching between workpieces of different sizes within 10 minutes. They use negative pressure sensors to ensure accurate gripping without error, enhancing production efficiency.
The system features a decentralized control setup, where robots communicate directly with associated devices such as the punch presses. This approach allows flexibility in managing different production processes, making it easier to switch between workpieces and adjust robot tasks as needed.

Final Product

The final solution delivered to Suzhou Chunqiu Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. was a fully automated robotic production line capable of handling notebook lower covers ranging from 10 to 17 inches. This solution improved production efficiency, minimized downtime between processes, and maintained high standards of quality throughout the production cycle. With a cycle time of 14 seconds per piece, the system met the client’s demand for precision, speed, and flexibility.
The project also included comprehensive training for the client’s personnel, ensuring smooth operation and maintenance of the system, supported by a robust after-sales service package to guarantee long-term reliability.
